| South
African by birth, I was lucky to be introduced to hunting and fishing
at an early age. Some where along that road I saw my first custom
knives, but as a school lad, they were way out of my league price
wise. So I did the next best thing, went to the library and started
to learn how to make knives, my Dad was also roped into this new
hobby/craft and from those small beginnings back in 1977, it became
a life time passion.
I
dabbled with knife-making on and off and became very serious about
it in 1990 the year I got married! In 1992 I was accepted into the
South African knife-makers Guild. I have since resigned because
I now live in NZ.
In
1998 my wife Debby and I relocated to the land of the long white
cloud, New Zealand. I currently run the Auckland Knife Show and
was a founding member of the New Zealand Knife-makers Guild. I am
currently a member of both the Australian and New Zealand Knife-makers
Guilds.
I continuously strive to improve my designs, fits and finishes of
my knives, which range from kitchen, hunting and military applications
to exhibition grade collector’s pieces.
At present I exhibit at shows in New Zealand, Australia and America.
